Yaowaluck Nakkong, a 53-year-old restaurant chef who works at the Sangdao Thai restaurant, won the National Bingo Game top prize at the Winners Club. She took home a £200,000 bingo jackpot.

“I don't think she fully understood at first how much she had won as her English is not that good,” John Markerson, Club Manager, said. “Everyone cheered. It was phenomenal stuff. Although this was by far our biggest win on the National Game, we have been very lucky with quite a few zone prizes recently.”

Mrs Nakkong explained that she has only been playing bingo for six months. She shouted ‘Bingo!’ after just 37 numbers. The proud grandmother said she would use the money to pay off her mortgage and take a four-week holiday. “I am very, very happy,” she said.
