If you think only old grandmas get lucky in the Bingo…think again! This time a 22 year-old girl was stroked by luck playing at her local Bingo Club and taking home a prize of £22,500 after completing a full house in 47 calls.

But this was no beginners luck for the winner, Debbie Jolley, from the town of Wigan in Great Manchester, England, who is a regular bingo player and has been playing bingo for a while, most of the times accompanied by her mother. This time she scooped a prize of £22,500 corresponding to the National Bingo jackpot.

After winning, Debbie declared: "My mum was talking to a friend on the other side of the club when it was announced, so she came running over to me and gave me a big hug". With the money won, she plans to pay for her studies and also get some fancy Christmas presents.

Wigan Gala Bingo club has delivered more than £400,000 according to figures provided by the game’s operating body.
