Groups that run bingo operations are concerned of the changes that the Indiana Gaming Commission are planning.
The commission took oversight of charitable gaming from the Department of Revenue under a state law passed in 2006.
Gaming Commission Charitable Gaming Director Mark Mitchell says his department is moving carefully in setting financial standards not-for-profits that host many of the regular bingo games and pull tab licenses.
The bingo coordinator of an American Legion Post in Portage says it seems like they need a full-time lawyer to interpret the state regulations.
Mitchell says the commission will help bingo halls understand what’s expected of them before issuing fines.
