The Go-Mart in downtown Clarksburg, 601 W. Main St., has sold almost $1,300 in tickets just this week.
Since the jackpot has shattered its previous record -- $315 million -- even the second-tier prizes are getting a boost.
Normally, a player matching five numbers -- but not the extra Powerball -- wins $200,000. Now that prize is much higher, and Powerball officials said it could be more than a million dollars.
The Match 5 lottery jackpot is also bulking up. If there's a record Powerball jackpot, officials cap the next drawing's ticket sale contribution at $25 million.
Any additional money goes into a bonus prize pool for the Match 5 winners. That pool will have an extra $13 million for Wednesday's drawing.
Here some of the odds of scoring the large prize:
- 5 Numbers and Powerball: 1 in 146,107,962 - 5 Numbers without Powerball: 1 in 3,563,609 - 4 Numbers with Powerball: 1 in 584,432
And according to the Powerball Web site, the following five numbers are the most frequently drawn: 5, 9, 26, 35 and 42.
West Virginia has sold just six winning tickets since the game began in 1994.
